Which Tires Will You Choose This Summer?

Warmer weather means longer trips on the road, but are your tires ready for the occasion? Our team here at Westcott Mazda know how important it is to stay informed and make sure that you’re using the right tires for the occasion.

While all-season can be a good all-around tire, summer tires can give you a better performance in warmer weather.

Referred to as performance tires, summer tires have sticky additives added to the tread compound that allows the tires to grip the road in wet weather. This can help minimize the chance of hydroplaning in heavy rain.

The tread patterns are also shallower when compared to all-season tires to allow for more of the tire to be in contact with the road for added stability.

If you’re still unsure of what tires will work best for your vehicle, we invite you to visit our showroom, where we can also assist with other service needs on your vehicle.
